Before you act on anything here
Compressed air system design, pressure equipment selection and regulatory compliance must be confirmed with a qualified engineer and with the work health and safety regulator in your state or territory before you act.
Pressure equipment can kill people when it is wrong. Treat what you read here as a starting point for that conversation, not as a substitute for it.
Standards and regulations
We quote and summarise Australian, New Zealand and international standards, and regulator material, in good faith and with the edition named wherever we can.
Standards are amended, superseded and withdrawn. Regulator guidance changes. State and territory requirements differ from each other and from the standard. Our summary of a clause is our reading of it, and a reading is not the clause. Check the current edition of the standard itself and the requirements of your own regulator before you rely on any figure, threshold or interval published here.
We are not the publisher of any standard and we cannot give you a copy of one.
Calculators and tools
Our calculators return indicative estimates based on the inputs you supply and the assumptions printed on the page. Real energy use, savings, sizing and payback depend on things a calculator cannot see. Do not make a purchasing or capital decision on a calculator result alone.
Providers we introduce you to
Where we introduce you to a supplier or a verifier, we tell you what we checked about them. We are not a licensing body and we do not audit them. Satisfy yourself about any provider’s licences, insurance and competence before you engage them. Any contract is between you and them.

Currency
Pages carry the date they were last reviewed. A page that has not been reviewed recently may have fallen behind a change in a standard or a regulation.
